Pre-Installation Walkthrough

Pre-Installation Walkthrough

Before installing BeerBoard’s complete draft beer management system, there are a few required hardware and software tasks that will need to be completed.

Network Cable

A Cat5e cable must be run from the router or network device to the inside of the walk in cooler, where the BevBox will most likely be placed. Both ends of the cable must have male RJ45 plugs, with roughly 10-15 feet of additional cable left coiled up in the cooler. For every BevBox being set up, a network cable must be available. Each BevBox can monitor up to 40 draft lines, so if there are more lines requiring additional bevboxes, an additional cable must be available.

Network/Firewall Settings:

Your outbound ports 2957, 2958 and 8080 must be opened on the firewall/network to allow outbound internet access for the BevBox and POS sales gateway. The following URLS should be whitelisted:

"gateway.usbeveragenet.com"

www.bevmanager.net

www.beerboard.com

"smartbar.beerboard.com", and

"midware.beerboard.com"

If you are going to utilize the BeerBoard digital display service ensure the following

Power

A standard 110V GFI-enabled duplex outlet is available inside the walk-in cooler, preferably 6’ high on the cooler wall, adjacent to the door. One (1) GFI-enabled duplex outlet can support two (2) BevBox devices (if required). Wide Range AC-DC Adapter Input: 100-240V ~, 50-60 Hz, 0.3A. Output: +7.5 V, 1.6A

POS INTERFACE

Depending on the POS system used, the scheduled export feature or API must be enabled and the USBN gateway must be installed to facilitate transfer of POS draft beer sales data from POS to BeerBoard servers. Specific documentation for each unique supported POS system is available upon request.

LINES/BRANDS/POS ITEM CODES:

Prior to installation, BeerBoard requires that the number of draft lines to be monitored, all current draft brands carried, all sizes offered, and a complete list of all PLU's/Menu Codes from the POS for every unique brand and size are provided

Pre-Installation Walkthrough (SmartSync)

Customers utilizing SmartSync have the ease of mind knowing their data is transferred directly into SmartBar automatically, but will still have a few hardware steps to conduct to ensure their location is prepared for the platform. If using our Yield Management feature, which includes flowmeters and BevBox(s) and/or BeerBoard TV (BBTV) services, the customer must provide the following:

SMARTBAR MANAGEMENT (if applicable)

NETWORK CABLE:

The customer must provide a CAT5e/6 cable from the router/network device to the inside of the walk-in beer cooler. Both ends of the CAT5e/6 cable must be terminated with male RJ45 plugs. There should be 10-15 feet of additional cable slack left coiled up in the cooler. One (1) cable is required for each BevBox. A single BevBox can monitor up to forty (40) draft lines. If more than one BevBox is installed, an additional cable is required to support each additional BevBox. Cable requirements are applicable to Keg Boxes or additional keg coolers.

POWER:

The customer must provide a standard 110V GFI-enabled weather/condensation-resistant duplex outlet inside the walk-in cooler, preferably 6’ high on the cooler wall, adjacent to the door. One (1) GFI-enabled duplex outlet can support two (2) BevBox devices (if required). Wide Range AC-DC Adapter Input: 100-240V ~, 50-60 Hz, 0.3A. Output: +7.5 V, 1.6A. Power requirements are applicable to Keg Boxes or additional keg coolers.

BEERBOARD TV DIGITAL DISPLAY SERVICE

NETWORK CABLE: Customer must provide CAT5e/6 cable from AV matrix/flat screen TV/digital display to the router/ network device or provide access to a secure/non-public Wi-Fi network. If cabling is required, both ends of the CAT5e must be terminated with male RJ45 plugs.

POWER: A standard 110V duplex outlet should be made available within three (3) feet of the flat screen/ digital display.

The Flowmeter and BevBox installation partners specialize in Draft Beer System installations and are not data techs. Ensuring the transmission of data from the BevBox to the customer server is not part of the installation process and requires an IT Tech for support.

If there are any questions regarding the Pre-installation Requirements, don't hesitate to get in touch with BeerBoard by submitting a ticket to support.

POS INTERFACE: Depending on the POS system the customer uses, the scheduled export feature or API must be enabled and the USBN gateway must be installed to facilitate transfer of Draft and Packaged Beer, Liquor and Wine sales data from the POS system to BeerBoard servers. Specific documentation for each unique supported POS system is available upon request.

LINES/BRANDS/POS ITEM CODES: Prior to install, BeerBoard requires that the customer provide the number of draft lines to be monitored, all current draft brands carried, all sizes offered, and a complete list of all Beer, Liquor and Wine PLU's/Menu Codes from the POS for every unique brand and size.

NETWORK/FIREWALL SETTINGS: Outbound ports 2957, 2958, and 8080 should be opened on the firewall/network to allow outbound Internet access for the BevBox and POS Sales Gateway. The following URLs should be whitelisted for the POS Sales Gateway: "gateway.usbeveragenet.com", "www.bevmanager.net","www.beerboard.com", "smartbar.beerboard.com", and "midware.beerboard.com".

Once these items have been completed, notify your Onboarding representative. An installation date can then be set and you’ll be that much closer to accessing your very own SmartBar.
